Prayer for Ta Tan' Ka by Liesl Dalpe and Lynda Strohmeyer
"Behold this buffalo, O Grandfather, which You have given us. He is the chief of all four-leggeds upon our Sacred Mother. From him the people live and with him they walk the sacred path."
Liesl and Lynda have collaborated to create an outstanding and authentic traditional scale Native American ("Indian") costume set. The costume itself represents a Sioux men's ceremonial outfit. In this quiet scene, Chief Howahkan ("he of the mysterious voice") offers a prayer for a good hunt. The lot includes full documentation, a copy of the prayer, as well as the Chief and his mount.
The costume: The tack includes a saddle, pad, drape, horse collar, and bridle. All are made with the finest leather and size 18 glass micro beads. It will come with full reference.
The doll: Liesl has created the doll as an original sculpture, complete with glass eyes and graying viscose hair. His head swivels all the way around, and he is fully articulated. Lynda then adorned him with his ceremonial outfit including an eagle feather headdress.
The horse: Chief Howahkan's mount is none other than Sencillo (sculpted by Jenn Irwin). He has had some minor modifications, and then has been finished by Liesl to a luscious strawberry roan with minimal overo markings.
